Spirituoso is the featured ensemble at the II International Historical Performance Symposium, taking place at Carlos de Campos Conservatoire in Brazil.

The 2009 Dublin Handel Festival takes place from the 13th to the 19th of April
in the Old City area of Temple Bar and other historic venues throughout Dublin.
Celebrating the 250th anniversary of Handel’s death,
Temple Bar Cultural Trust presents a full programme packed with Handel
highlights including concerts, opera, theatre, workshops, tours, talk,
family activities and newly commissioned work.
The hugely popular 'Messiah on the Street' which opens the festival
on April 13th is an outdoor experience not to be missed!

The artists introduce a music master, a dancing master and a musician to

Learn to dance a few steps to the Minuet, use fans and even how to stand, sit and bow!

Spirituoso, Ensemble in Residence at Handel House Museum,
present a fascinating programme exploring the intensely passionate relationship
between composers, which sparked off the creation of some of the most beautiful
music in the Grand Siècle, using the World-famous 1769 Taskin harpsichord.

Music of the Spheres
Sunday 11th October
Spirituoso, Ensemble in Residence at Handel House Museum,
give a fascinating insight into how music was perceived in the 17th and 18th centuries,
exploring the mystical connotations proposed by musicians and theorists relating music
composition and performance, with astronomy, philosophy and faith.
Spirituoso link the work of the astronomer and physicist Johannes Kepler and musical
theorist and composer Walther, amongst others, to offer a rare insight into musical
composition, how it relates to planetary proportion, the notion of divine harmony
enriched and informed music-making.

present a concert first performed during their recent visit to St Cecilia\’s Hall, Edinburgh
at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe. Exploring the music that was created from the passionate
relationships between composers, which sparked off the creation of some of the most beautiful music in the /grand siècle/.

LA QUERELLE DES BOUFFONS
Sunday 21st February, 3pm - 4pm
Ensemble-in-Residence Spirituoso is joined by a guest soprano to present the colourful and enticing battle between French and Italian styles of vocal composition which in the 18th century produced gems of vocal and instrumental virtuosity. Works by Andre Campra will be performed to mark the 350th anniversary of his birth.

A Concert inspired by the 18th century Concerts Spirituels, the first series of public concerts in Paris mixing sacred vocal music and instrumental pieces. Mercurius Company in collaboration with Trio Spirituoso (ensemble in residence at Handel House Museum 2009-2010). In the programme works by Campra, Couperin and Rameau.
