Baroque Idol is a fun event providing a glimpse of the day-to-day life of an aristocratic child in Handel's time. Fully dressed in period costumes, the artists introduce a music master, a dancing master and a musician to teach the latest trends to a true 18th-century celebrity fashionista!

A look into the rhetorical framework in Handel's music. Aimed at the wider public, the illustrated talk will focus on the rhetorical and oratorical elements inherent in Handel's compositions, promoting a better understanding and enhanced appreciation of his vocal and purely instrumental music.

'Handel House ~ The building through the eyes of a child'. A musical children's guided tour to Handel House Museum. Exploring each room, children are encouraged to imagine what might have happened in each one of them during Handel's time. Following their visit children are expected to prepare a piece of creative writing, drawing, painting or collage about each room.
Handel's Recorder & Flute Sonatas
Workshops and illustrated talk on Handel's recorder & flute sonatas. Topics explored include stylistic approach and performance of the sonatas; who they were meant for, the music homemaking market and its relevance in today's music making; drawing the parallels between 18th and 21st-century recorder and flute players; the professional, the amateur and the student.
Cello continuo in Handel's Sonatas
A continuo accompaniment workshop and illustrated talk for young cellists focusing on Handel's recorder & flute sonatas, with their virtuosic bass lines.
Handel's Harpsichord Suites
Aimed at harpsichordist and piano students, the workshop will focus on the harpsichord suites by Handel. Harpsichord technique, stylistic approach, character and tempi of dances (according to original 18th-century tempo markings for existing choreographies) will be particularly observed.
Dangerous Liaisons
Baroque Dance, gesture and etiquette workshop. Spirituoso will explore the intricate world of manners, the secret language of the silk fans and the hidden meaning of beauty spots. Featuring the two original choreographies to Handel's music 'Queen Caroline' and 'Prince of Wales', by Antoine L'Abbé, who was the dancing master to George II. The instrinsic relationship between music and choreographic figures are also explored in this activity and demonstrated by Spirituoso.
